Man Arrested For Violating Order Of Protection

Newport police responded to an automobile accident Wednesday evening in front of the Marathon station on Cosby Highway. Police spoke with one of the drivers who stated that her ex-boyfriend was a passenger in her vehicle. She stated that 36 year old William Cody, who she has a restraining order against, showed up at her home Wednesday afternoon and held her against her will. He then made her drive him around in her car. Officer Paul Weber observed Cody stumbling into the Marathon station. Employees there stated that Cody was so intoxicated he had fallen down several times in the store. Cody was arrested and charged with public intoxication, domestic assault and violating an order of protection.
