Man Arrested In Greeneville For Praying In Public…Nude

A man in Greeneville was arrested on Thursday after trying to pray next to Andrew Johnson Highway with no clothes on. Officers responded to Hardees about 53 year old Jeffrey Atwood…officers were very familiar with Atwood after having three other incidents with him for the same thing. Atwood had told officers that God wanted him to get naked and pray…to which officers had warned him if he continued to get naked in public and pray he would be arrested. Yesterday afternoon Atwood walked up to the edge of traffic on the busy highway and tried to pray. Police finally arrested him for disorderly conduct…mainly for his own safety.
