Man Causes Disturbance In The Park

Newport police arrested a man at Newport City Park Wednesday afternoon after he was causing a disturbance in the park. The man was spotted by a patrol officer slamming his car door and yelling. The man could clearly be heard all the way across the walking track. The man was identified as 36 year old Brandon Shoemaker and was confronted by the officer. Shoemaker continued to be aggressive and told the officer that he was angry at law enforcement from a previous incident, and that is why he was shouting loudly, in a public park with children nearby. After numerous attempts to get Shoemaker to calm down failed, Shoemaker was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct.
