Man Charged With Domestic Assault

Police arrested a man on the ramp to Eastbound I-40 at exit 435 Thursday. Jaydn Smith told police that she was driving and 31 year old Jason Fenwick was riding in the passenger seat. She stated that the two began arguing and Fenwick began hitting the dash in front of the passenger seat, breaking one of the air conditioner vents. Stewart said that she pulled off on the side of the exit ramp for fear of Fenwick who has a history of domestic violence. She also stated that Fenwick interfered with her attempt to call 911. Fenwick was found by officers to have abrasions on his knuckles, confirming Stewart’s account of events. Fenwick was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault, interfering with and emergency call and vandalism.
