Man Holds Sister-In-Law Against Her Will
Cocke County deputies responded to a home on High Point Road in Newport Wednesday morning (May 24), after a call that a man was holding a woman against her will in that home. Lisa Sutton stated that her husband Andy would not let his Sister In Law, Tina Sutton out of her bedroom and was standing in front of the bedroom door with a stick. Deputy Randy Forbes entered the home and found Sutton at the bedroom door with a large stick approximately 2 feet long and 4 inches wide. Sutton was screaming and issued threats to Deputy Forbes and Deputy Tim Snapp to not come any closer. After several commands to drop the stick, Mr. Sutton complied. He then moved to the corner of the living room and picked up a wooden chair. After several commands to drop the chair, Sutton raised the chair towards Deputy Forbes, who knocked the chair out of Sutton’s hands and forced him to the floor. Deputy Snapp had fired his Taser prior to the takedown but was not successful in making contact. After a brief struggle, Sutton was taken into custody. He is facing a charge of aggravated domestic assault.
