Man Injured In Crash On Enka Highway
A Hawkins County man was injured in an accident with a UPS truck over the weekend in Hamblen County. Gregory Jinks of Morresburg was driving southbound on Hwy 160 when he collided with a UPS truck at the intersection of Springvale. Jesus Miranda, the driver of the UPS truck, stated that he was coming across Enka Hwy from Springvale when he made contact with Jink’s 2005 Ford Focus. Police were unable to speak with Jinks as he was trapped in the car and being treated by EMS. Due to his injury’s, Jinks was flown to UT Medical Center in Knoxville. Police spoke with the passenger, Nina Link, and she did state that both had been drinking, and had just left T&T Package Store. Officers found what looked to be open containers of box wine, air plane bottles of alcohol, and 37.2 grams of marijuana in Jinks’ vehicle. Charges are pending against Jinks pending results of a toxicology report.
