Man Steals TV Too Big For Car

Saturday afternoon, a Cocke County Deputy, LT. Danny Ray Reece, spotted something unusual on Cosby Hwy. A vehicle traveling with both back doors open and a large tv hanging out both sides of the open doors. Clothing was also flying out of the vehicle. Reece attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to pull over and a pursuit began. That pursuit ended quickly and the suspect got out of the car and fled on foot. Newport police would later capture the suspect after a brief foot pursuit in a field off Clevenger Cut-off Road. That suspect was 35 year old Michael McReynolds. He now faces a handful of charges including theft as the tv was found to be stolen from Wal-Mart.
