Man Wanting Out Of Gang, Beaten In Morristown
A man who says he wanted out of a gang in Morristown was found beaten on Sunday. Morristown police were dispatched to an address on South Cumberland. That is where they found the victim Robert Joseph Samples in excruciating pain with lacerations to his back and right wrist. Samples told police he wanted out of the gang, but other gang members did not approve. Samples says he had to go “13 rounds” as he called it, where the unknown fellow members of the gang repeatedly kicked, punched, cut, and stomped on him. Samples could not give an exact location where the assault took place, all he was able to give was somewhere in a field near Enka Hwy. He was then taken to an unknown location on S. Cumberland St where he was left. He then walked to the location where he was located by police.
