Man Who Buries His Estranged Wife In East Tennessee Sentenced
An Indiana man has received a sentence of life in prison for stalking his estranged wife to Florida, shooting her and then burying her body in east Tennessee. 62 year old Jarvis Wayne Madison of New Albany, Indiana, was sentenced this week in federal court in Orlando Florida…According to court documents, in November of 2016 Madison and his wife Rachael were in Indiana when he threatened to kill her and then fired a gun at her. The 44-year-old woman then escaped and went to stay with relatives just north of Daytona Beach, Florida. Jarvis Madison eventually tracked her down in Florida and began to conduct surveillance on his wife at her relatives’ home. Officials say Madison confronted his estranged wife after watching her leave the house alone to go jogging. He shot her three times and then left the area with her body in his SUV. Investigators say that Madison spent a night with a friend in Buckhannon, West Virginia, where he bought a shovel and a tarp…He then drove to a remote area near Knoxville and buried his wife’s body in a shallow grave. The friend in West Virginia…60 year old Belenda Sandy was sentenced earlier to over 7 years in federal prison for obstruction of justice.
