Man Who Shot Virginia Police Officer Could Face 100 Years In Prison
The man who shot and killed a Big Stone Gap, Virginia police office last fall could be sentenced to 100 years in prison after he was found to be part of a drug trafficking conspiracy. Michael Donivan White plead guilty last month to first degree murder in the shooting death of police officer Michael Chandler. On Wednesday, White pleaded guilty to eight more federal counts in relation to Officer Chandler’s death. According to the US Justice Department, White was a key figure in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl. 18 other defendants were also involved. among the eight additional charges White has plead guilty to are…Causing the death of a person using a firearm, which killing was a first degree murder, in the furtherance of a drug trafficking crime; and Conspiring to distribute or possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams of more of methamphetamine . White will be sentenced in November.
