Meth Lab Found Operating In Woods Behind Dandridge Business
A man was arrested in Dandridge Tuesday after a meth lab was found behind a business. Dandridge Police were searching a wooded area behind Weigel’s on Hwy 92 near Interstate 40. Officers were looking for a suspect from an earlier incident when they began to smell chemicals they recognized as the manufacture of methamphetamine. Officers then spotted Michael Cyrus tending to something cooking over an open fire. They found what appeared to be an active meth lab outdoors. Cyrus was taken into custody following a brief struggle. The Dangerous Drugs Task Force Meth Response Team was then called in to safely remove hazardous materials and chemicals from the scene. The Dandridge Police Department says the meth lab was operating several hundred yards behind the Weigel’s.
