Missing Items From Towed Vehicle Being Investigated

The Cocke County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft connected to a vehicle towing incident. Deputy Austin Kress responded to Court Avenue on October 16th after Trent Smith reported items missing from his car. Smith told deputies he had parked his vehicle near DJ’s Market on Hooper Highway earlier in the week and later discovered it had been towed by Justin Time Towing without his consent. When Smith retrieved the vehicle, he noticed that clothing and a pair of hair clippers—valued at about $230—were missing from the trunk. The investigation into the theft is ongoing.
