Missing Knox County Woman Found In Newport

A missing woman was located in Newport Wednesday morning. Police on routine patrol spotted a woman lying in front of the entrance to DoJo Japanese Grill. The woman appeared to be asleep, when she was awakened by Officer Paul Weber, she handed him an ID from California. That ID shopwed her to be 56 year old Dana Edwards. A check through a crime database showed her to be a missing person out of Knox County, TN. Edwards, who suffers from mental illness, was transported by EMS to the Newport Medical Center to be evaluated.
