Mistaken Identity Lands Woman In Jail
A case of mistaken identity wound up in one woman being cuffed and taken to jail Tuesday night. 18 year old Austin Banks Called 911 to report a red truck was following him. Banks told police officer Paul Weber in the parking lot of Wal-Mart that he had gotten off work and came out to his car where 38 year old Vanessa Allen began yelling at him and threatening him. Banks said he got in his car and drove away, but Allen followed him. In fact, in trying to get away from her, he sped down Cosby Hwy at speeds of up to 100 mph as she followed him to Lane’s Market. Banks drove ack to Wal-Mart where he met officer Weber. At that time Allen pulled up and continued to hassle Banks, in front of police. Allen resisted when officers attempted to arrest her for disorderly conduct and threatened the officers as well. Allen’s two daughters that were in the truck that their mother thought that Austin Banks was a young man who had been sending inappropriate texts messages to them, but it was clear that she had the wrong person. Vanessa Allen was charged with resisting arrest and also assault.
