Monday Evening Accident Injures Three

Three people suffered minor injuries in a car accident Monday evening in Newport on Cosby Hwy. 18 year old Alyssa Wilburn-Walker told police that she pulled out of Sequoyah Drive turning left onto Cosby Hwy. She stated she was getting into the center lane when a vehicle coming at what she called a fast speed came around a truck traveling northbound on Cosby Highway and struck her 2010 Chevy Impala. Two children ages 4 & 5 were in the Impala but were restrained in car seats.

26 year old Christian Hall stated that he was traveling northbound on Cosby Hwy in a 2003 Chevy Tahoe when a truck in front of him was turning onto Sequoyah Drive so he went around them on the left and did not see the Impala. All three in the Impala suffered minor injuries but were not transported to the hospital. Hall was not hurt in the crash and neither of the drivers were cited.
