More Forest Service Burns On The Way
Earlier this week, the National Forest Service had a controlled burn in the Meadow Creek area. More of those prescribed burns have been planned between now and May in Cocke County. The other areas include Chesnut Ridge on the Tennssee/North Carolina border near Max Patch; Walnut Mountain –Between Rattlesnake Gap, Lemon Gap, and Kale Gap on the TN/NC border; Little Clifty just west of Bubbling Springs Shooting Range; 2,000 acres of Brush Creek – Just north of the French Broad River. Along Upper Wolf Creek Road (FSR 209), Hwy 107, Teno Road (FSR 5103), and just north of Hwy 25/70. There are no set dates for these controlled burns, but if they are done it will be between now and the middle of May.
