Morristown Hamblen Hospital Employee Killed In Pedestrian Crash

The Morristown Police Department has confirmed that the 41 year old woman killed in a crosswalk Tuesday morning was a Morristown Hamblen Hospital employee. Police say around 7:30am Tuesday, Elizabeth Block stepped into the crosswalk on North High Street at Watercrest Street. Block was then hit by car driven by a 73 year old woman. That woman’s identity has not been released. Police say the driver did remain on scene until help arrived. She was given a blood test to check for drugs or alcohol. The Morristown Police Department is still waiting on the results of that test. No charges have been filed at this time, but that accident is still under investigation.
