Morristown Man Sprayed With Mace In Cocke Co.

A Morristown man was taken to the Newport Medical Center Friday night after he claimed to have been sprayed with mace. According to the Cocke County Sheriff’s office, Michael Messer stated that he was at a home on Sunlight Road in the Parrottsville area when a female by the name of Payton English pulled up in a vehicle along with four black males. Michael stated the males got out of the vehicle and sprayed him with bear mace due to him stealing their drugs. Due to EMS being at level zero at the time, Messer was transported to the Newport Medical Center by a sheriff’s deputy. That deputy then went to the home on Sunlight Road and spoke with the homeowner who confirmed that he had seen Payton English spray Michael Messer with the bear mace then flee in her vehicle. No arrest has been made at this time.
