Motorcycle Accident Sends Man To UT Medical Center

Newport police are investigating a Monday night motorcycle accident that sent a man to a Knoxville hospital. 34 year old Dustin Arnold was found Monday night around 10:50pm laying in the roadway on West roadway near the entrance to the Western Plaza shopping center. Arnold was found with severe injuries including laceration to his abdomen. Police believe that Arnold lost control of his motorcycle around the Western Plaza access road, left the right side of the roadway striking the curb. That launched him off the motorcycle where he then rolled back onto the roadway. Arnold was transported to the Newport Medical Center first, then was airlifted to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville. Police believe that alcohol may have played a part i n that accident.
