Motorcyclist Charged With Reckless Driving

Newport police were notified Tuesday evening by Parrottsville police that they were in pursuit of a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 321. Parrottsville PD terminated their pursuit at Woodson Road. Newport police spotted the vehicle at the intersection of Smith Street and North Street and started pursuing southbound on North Street. That motorcycle then turned left onto Clifton Heights Road where that motorcycle left the roadway and crashed into the woods. The operator of that motorcycle then walked out of the woods and was taken into custody. 37 year old Robert Lucas of Bybee has been charged with reckless driving and evading arrest.
