Narcotics Search Warrant Served

Authorities served a narcotics search warrant at a home in Newport on Friday. The Cocke County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, Criminal Investigations Division, Newport Police Department and Newport/Cocke County SWAT team executed that narcotics search warrant at 342 Jefferson Avenue Friday morning around 6:15 am. The warrant was issued after Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Officers had conducted an investigation of drug sales going on at that residence. Inside the home, officers found a small amount of heroin, but baggies and digital scales commonly used in the sale of illegal drugs. The officers also found over $3,000 in cash. Arrested were 41 year old Tracy Jones and 42 year old Andrea Rathbone. they are both charged with possession of schedule I and unlawful drug paraphernalia.
