Nashville Shooter Was Under Doctor’s Care For Emotional Disorder
More details have been released concerning the 28 year old woman who killed three children and three adults in a Nashville school shooting on Monday. Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake says that Audrey Hale was under the care of a doctor for an emotional disorder. Drake also has said that Hale had purchsed seven weapons over the last two years, all of them legally. We also have learned that at the time the call came in about shots being fired at the Covenant Presbyterian school, a friend of the shooter was on hold on the police department’s non-emergency line. A friend of Audrey Hale was trying to notify police that she had received a note from Hale saying that something bad was about to happen and that she was having suicidal thoughts. Averianna Patton says that someone came to take her report about 3:29pm Monday afternoon…hours after the shooting.
Chief Drake says that Hale’s parents had been concerned about their daughter’s mental state and did not believe she should have weapons. They thought she only had one and had sold it. Drake though says that there is no law in Tennessee that would have allowed the police to take her guns.
