Newport BOE Hiring New Director

The Newport School System will soon have a new director. Late last week, the Newport City Boad of Eductation offered the position of Director of Schools to Dr. Justin Norton. Norton is currently the Tennessee Systems and Assessment Supervisor for the school system. He has been with the Newport Grammar School for 16 years. While a contract has not officially been drawn up and signed, Dr. Norton is expected to be officially introduced as the new Director of Schools for Newport at the next Board of Education meeting next Monday, July 17th. Norton replaces outgoing director Sandra Burchette who is retiring.
