Newport Police Arrest Man Passing Drugs From Vehicle.
Newport police arrested a man after he was seen passing drugs out of a vehicle to another person. It happened when officers spotted a gray Nissan sitting partially on JimTown Road with its headlights on. The officers watched as an individual stood at the passenger side door while someone inside passed something to them out the window. Inside the vehicle was 37 year old Michael Henderson who tried to conceal a bag he had in his lap. That bag contained 6 grams of methamphetamine. Henderson admitted he was giving a small amount of the drug to the man that was outside the car. Henderson was charged with possession of schedule II narcotics, plus he had a warrant for his arrest for theft over $1,000.
