Newport Police Department Hiring

The Newport Civil Service Board is accepting applications for the position of police officer with the city of Newport. You must be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or the equivalent, a valid TN Driver’s License, a copy of discharge if you’re a military veteran. You will also need to provide a copy of birth certificate with your application. Incomplete application packets will be disqualified from consideration. POST certification is a plus when applying for this position. Application packets can be picked up in person at Newport Police Department at 330 E. Main Street in downtown Newport or you can get one online at the City of Newport’s website. Completed packets must be turned in at the Newport Police Department by no later than 4:00 pm Friday, November 3.
