Newport Police Respond To Wreck Saturday Night

Newport police responded to a wreck Saturday night on Cosby Hwy. Elijah McGhee told police that he was driving northbound on Cosby Hwy when a white Ford Explorer towing a small 4 wheel ATV pulled out from Four Star Auto Sales at a high rate of speed and collided with his vehicle. McGhee stated that the ATV was thrown off the trailer and also struck his vehicle. McGhee, who was driving on a suspended license was ticketed. His vehicle sustained just minor damage. Shortly after that call came in, calls came into 911 reporting a white SUV was traveling on North Street at a high rate of speed weaving in and out of traffic, but no other collisions were reported. The white SUV was not found.
