Newport Woman Arrested For VOP Order

Cocke County deputies responded Friday to a residence in Parrottsville on Point Oak Drive in reference to a female on the property who had an order of protection against her. The owner of the home, 72 year old William Parks had taken out the order of protection against his 36 year old daughter Jennifer Parks and she was not allowed on his property. Jennifer Parks was found walking away from the residence and was taken into custody…but on Friday night around 11pm deputies were dispatched again to the same address…as after posting bond around 8:20 Friday night…Jennifer Parks again violated that order of protection. Deputies located parks around 5am Saturday morning sleeping at a laundromat. Parks resisted arrest numerous times as deputies attempted to take her into custody. Deputies were finally able to get Parks into custody and transport her to the Cocke County Jail. She has been charged with aggravated burglary, contempt of court and resisting arrest.
