Next Commodities Food Distribution Date Announced

The next commodities giveaway has been announced for Cocke County. It will be Tuesday, August 23rd at the Newport Guard Armory off of Cosby Highway in Newport….hours from 9am-noon. To qualify for receiving the food distribution you must have at least one or more of the following…a current food stamps card, proof of SSI assistance, proof of families first assistance, proof of public housing residency or proof of 2022 monthly household income. The commodities distribution is for Cocke County residents only and you must show proof of residency to receive the food. This will be a drive thru service only with the only entrance off of Cosby Highway.

The USDA Commodity Food Distribution is being administered by the Douglas-Cherokee Economic Authority.
