Officer Involved Shooting In Bean Station

The TBI is investigating an officer involved shooting that happened in Bean Station over the weekend. Police in Bean Station received a call that a man who had recently stolen a vehicle from a property was back on site at that residence. When officers arrived, the suspect ran from officers who gave pursuit. At one point the suspect fired shots at an officer, who then returned fire, hitting the suspect. The suspect, who was not identified, was transported to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville Saturday night. He was listed in stable condition. The Grainger and Hawkins County Sheriff’s offices responded to that shooting. District Attorney Jimmy Dunn’s office asked the TBI to investigate that shooting.
