One Dead After Greene County House Fire

One person is dead after a fatal house fire in Greene County Sunday. Firefighting units were called to a home on Robert Harmon Road around 9:36am Sunday morning. Units were advised that someone may be inside the home. Four firefighting agencies responded to the fire and found a small block structure engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked quickly to get the fire under control. They were then able to gain entry inside the home where they found the body of an individual inside. The remains have been sent to the William L. Jenkins Forensic Center for an autopsy and formal identification. Greene County Sheriff Wesley Holt says investigators with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations (TBI) plus fire and arson investigators with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department are looking into the cause of that fire.
