One Lane Closed On US-25/70 Between Newport And Del-Rio

TDOT was alerted last night about a possible issue with the integrity of the roadway on US 25-70 around the area of the Barbaraosa. The roadway was deemed safe for travel…however the lane closest to the river is closed for some repairs. A trafic signal is set up in that area and travel is being routed onto the westbound lane for about 1/3rd of a mile. The road is safe, but you may find a little delay traveling through that area on Hwy 25-70. The Cocke County Emergency Management Director traveled the road Thursday night and deemed it safe to travel on.
