Parrottsville Man Faces DUI
A Parrottsville man faces DUI charges after he recovers from injuries he suffered in a one car accident Monday evening. The accident happened on Good Hope Road in Parrottsville. Deputies say that it appears the driver, 47 year old Jeffrey Johnson, failed to navigate a slight left hand curve, left the roadway struck a tree and the car rolled over on the driver’s side. The 911 caller and a bystander helped the responding deputy get Johnson out of the vehicle through the passenger side. Firefighters then helped deputy Richard Hoover lift the car up enough to free a dog trapped inside the vehicle on the drivers’ side. Johnson had injuries to his chin and was bleeding from the mouth and left shoulder, but claimed he was in no pain. An open bottle of Fireball whiskey was found in the car and Johnson appeared to be intoxicated. He was transported to the Newport Medical Center. A warrant was issued against him for DUI upon his release from the hospital.
