Parrottsville Woman Assaulted
Cocke County deputies responded to a home on LaFollete Road in Parrottsville after a woman was assaulted by her boyfriend. Witnesses told deputies that 24 year old Wesley Turner was arguing with his 20 year old girlfriend when he refused to let her out of his truck and sped away with her in the passenger seat and her door open. Witnesses told deputies that the woman was screaming as the vehicle pulled away.
The sheriff’s office was later alerted that Turner had driven back to the home on LaFollette Road and that the victim was being driven to the Newport Medical Center by her parents. Deputies found the victim, Sara Loyd, at the hospital covered in blood and her eye swollen. Her fingers were also swollen. Loyd stated that as they were going down the road, Turner grabbed her by the head and began hitting her head against the window. He kept slamming the brakes causing her to hit her head on the dashboard as well. Loyd then says at some point Turner grabbed her fingers and bent them back. She stated that at some point she passed out and then woke up on Long Creek Road, before Turner drove her back to the home on LaFollette Road. Deputies later found Turners’ truck broke down on Long Creek Road, but he was not with the truck. Warrants for aggravated domestic assault and kidnapping have been issued for Turner’s arrest.
