Permitless Carry Starts Tomorrow
Tomorrow permitless carry goes into effect in the state of Tennessee. Even though the need for a permit is going away, law enforcement wants to remind citizens there are still some things you need to be aware of…such as a business may still prohibit or restrict weapons by posting specific signage…Permits, either enhanced or concealed, are still required to carry at public parks, greenways and nature trails…It is still illegal to possess a firearm while under the influence of alcohol or any other controlled substance…plus the theft of a firearm is a felony starting tomorrow.
Also there are exceptions to those who can carry…those who are still not allowed to carry include those convicted of a felony…anyone who is a user or addict of a controlled substance…anyone in the US illegally…or someone who has been declared mentally deficient.
The law going in effect tomorrow will allow those ages 21 years of age or older or 18 and older in the military to carry a gun without a permit…as long as all laws are followed.
