Police Respond To Assault Threats
Police were dispatched to the Relax Inn in reference to threats of assault. Upon arrival, officer Paul Webber made contact with the complainants, Charles Loyd and Carolyn Loyd who stated while sitting inside their vehicle, Dustin Toby approached their vehicle and began yelling and cursing at them. Ms. Loyd stated she did not know Mr Toby but he approached her unprovoked and appeared like he was going to assault her. Ms Loyd stated she feared for her safety and grabbed a wooden club to defend herself. When officers spoke with Mr Toby, he stated that he and his girlfriend Kayla Ball had been in the room the entire day, and that Mr Loyd would constantly knock on her door asking for either cigarettes or marijuana , or he would knock and run away. Ms Ball reported this had happened at least 8 times that day. Mr. Toby stated that he never approached the Lloyd vehicle, but did say he asked the Lloyd’s to stop knocking on his door. Toby stated he went back inside after Ms Loyd presented a wooden club and stated she would hit him with it. Both parties were advised that a report would be on file and how to file for a criminal summons. They were also advised to stay away from each other.
