Rumble In Greene County
East Tennessee and Western North Carolina has seen quite a bit of seismic activity over the past year with small earthquakes that mainly have a magnitude of around 2.0, which is mild enough that most won’t even notice. The latest quake though is a little closer to home. This one happened in Greene County Tuesday night. According to the US Geological Survey, the quake was centered in an area about 5 miles north of Greeneville and was at a depth of 13.5 miles. The quake registered 2.3 on the Richter scale. No word on whether anyone actually felt that earthquake as the USGS says it was very light on their scale.
