Sandwich Theft

Newport Officers Paul Webber and Eli Suggs were conducting a routine business check at Wal-Mart on Wednesday afternoon when they were flagged down by loss a prevention associate for suspected shoplifters. Officers made contact with the suspects Zach Kraft and Bethany Parker. Mr. Kraft admitted to opening and consuming a deli sandwich without paying for and without the intention of paying for it. Ms. Parker had a backpack full of WalMart merchandise that she and Mr. Kraft had concealed together. The total value of the theft was $27.64. Both were issued a citation and trespassed from the property.
