Seam Williams To Have Two Separate Trials
A federal judge in Greeneville has ruled that accused child pornographer and child rapist Seam Williams will have separate trials for the child pornography charges and the charges against him for escape. You might recall that William escaped from an inmate transport van in Greeneville on October 18 and remained on the loose for over a month till he was captured near Tampa, Florida just before Thanksgiving. Williams had escaped from the Washington County jail before that.
Judge Ronnie Greer had proposed having one trial for all the charges, but the defense and the prosecution could not come to an agreement on having just one trial. Williams’ child pornography charges stem from the allegations that he filmed himself sexually abusing three different children in his Johnson City apartment. Williams faces state charges of child rape in connection with those incidents.
The judge has set Sean Williams federal pornography production trial to start May 21. Williams has until May 7 to reach a plea deal or the case will go to trial.
