Sean Williams Attempts Suicide
The Sean Williams saga continues. Williams is due in federal court tomorrow in Greeneville. That court appearance may not happen though, after Williams attempted suicide. Williams was transported to the Blount County jail in Maryville on Tuesday. He was placed in a isolation cell and despite being heavily guarded, Williams was able to stab himself in his cell about two hours after arriving at the jail. Williams was transported to the hospital where he was stabilized and treated for a stab wound. US Marshals are investigating the incident as they are not sure what Williams used to stab himself.
David Jolley with the US Marshal’s Service says that Williams is a cunning and very dangerous individual who has attempted to escape, escaped from transport officers, and now attempted suicide, all in an effort to avoid facing charges against him.
Williams is suspected of multiple cases of rape in Johnson City, plus has charges against him for child pornography and federal weapons charges. Sean Williams also faces charges of escape in Washington County and federal escape charges concerning his escape from an inmate transport van while in Greeneville on October 18.
