Search Continues For Armed And Dangerous Man In Jefferson County

Jefferson County authorities are continuing to search for a suspect who they say is armed and dangerous. Everything started on Wednesday with a carjacking at the Planet Fitness on Chapman Highway in Knoxville. That carjacking suspect fled into Jefferson County. Midday on Thursday, officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office were spread across farmland on US 11E in the New Market area. Due to the search in that area, the New Market Elementary school was placed in a soft lockdown. The alleged carjacker is a white male…5 feet 9 inches tall…weighs 150 lbs. and was seen wearing a black polo shirt and black shorts. Jefferson County authorities say the man should be considered armed and dangerous and if seen should not be approached…but you should call 911.
