Search Continuing For Sean Williams
The search is continuing for the man who escaped from an inmate transport van in Greeneville on Wednesday. 52 year old Sean Williams was being transported from where he was being held for federal authorities in Laurel County Kentucky to Greeneville where he was due to appear for a hearing in federal court on Wednesday. Williams got out of his restraints and kicked the back window of the van out and then crawled out the window. That set off a massive search for Williams that includes the FBI, US Marshals plus the Tennessee Highway Patrol and local authorities. A combined reward by the US Marshals and the TBI of $7500 is being offered for informatiuon that leads to Williams’ capture. One of the jailers from Laurel County says that Williams may have used a paper clip found in the van where Williams was sitting to unlock his restraints.
Williams is a former Johnson City businessman who faces multiple charges. That includes three federal counts of production of child pornography and multiple state counts of child rape. He has been in federal custody since May. He had been transferred back to Tennessee from North Carolina where he had been arrested on drug charges in Sylva, NC. He is now also charged with escape. The TBI says Williams has three tattoos, all on his left hand and arm. Anyone spotting Sean Williams should immediately call 911.
