Sevier County Constable Charged With DUI

A constable in Sevier County is in trouble. This after he was caught driving under the influence. The Sevierville Police Department says Samuel E. Scott was pulled over just before midnight Wednesday night on Route 66 near Arby’s Restaurant. Police say that Scott was pulled over after he was failing to maintain his lane. He was taken to the Sevier County Jail and charged with driving under the influence and was released on bond. Scott was first elected as contable in Sevier County back in 2006 and was recently re-elected in 2022. Scott is facing a different charge that stems from an incident last year where he was accused of failing to give aid after a crash. He is due in court in September on that charge. This is his Constable Scott’s first DUI.
