Sevier County Deputy Among The Injured In Domestic Dispute

A Sevier County deputy is among 4 people injured last night after a call about a domestic dispute. Deputies were called to a home in Wears Valley on Robeson Road around 6pm. The TBI says that deputies encountered an man armed with gun. A father and son, whose identities have not been revealed, were having an armed confrontation. Authorities say the father assaulted his son, and that led events to spiral out of control eventually resulting in shots being fired. The father had to be transported to Leconte Medical Center suffering from a gunshot wound. A deputy was also injured in that incident and was transported to the hospital. The father’s son and daughter both fled from the home but were later captured by Sevier County police. They also were transported to Leconte Medical Center with unknown injuries…although none of the injuries were life threatening.

The TBI is investigating that officer-involved shooting. As of last night, no arrests have been made.
