Sevier County Fires 100% Contained; CCFD Assists
The fires that were burning in Sevier County on Thursday are now 100% contained. The fires broke out when strong winds brought down trees onto power lines. The biggest fire was in the Waldens Creek area of Pigeon Forge near the Shagbark resort community. That fire grew to 81 acres. The other fires were 8.5 acres and 5 acres in size. Sevier County officials are now reporting that no one was injured and there were no structures lost in these fires. The Cocke County Fire Department with Fire Chief Cody Keys helped respond to those fires Thursday in Sevier County.
