Sheriff’s Office To Start JCAP Program
The Cocke County Sheriff’s office is going to try something new in the effort to rehabilitate offenders. The sheriff’s office will start what is called the JCAP program on August 1st. JCAP is a rehab program that begins in the jail. There are 3 months of daily workouts, classes and counseling sessions. There will be daily inspections, drug screens and no tolerance for any drug use. Inmates who qualify and complete the 3 month JCAP program will go to a True Purpose facility to complete their court ordered rehab which will be from 9 to 12 months. The program is the first of its kind to be used in Tennessee…using a faith-based approach to getting men and women out of jail.
