Shooting In White Pine…One Suspect In Custody

Jefferson County police have arrested one person and are looking for at least one more suspect in a shooting that happened in White Pine last night. At approximately 9:41 Thursday night, Jefferson County Deputies along with Officers from the White Pine Police Department responded to Bridle Way on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival they found one victim laying in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the UT Medical Center’s Emergency Room in Knoxville. Deputies then conducted a K-9 track of two Hispanic male suspects dressed in all black that are considered armed and dangerous. Police warned everyone who lives on Route 25E up to State St and south to Hardy Rd and West to Maple St to remain inside their homes. Police now have one of those men in custody, the other is still at large and is believed to have left the area. Jefferson County authorities are continuing that investigation into that shooting.
