State Issues Burn Ban

Tennessee has issued a statewide burn ban due to the continuing dry conditions. On October 15th, the state began requiring a burn permit to be able to burn any leaves or debris on your property. The Tennessee Department of Agriculture says conditions are typical for this time of year. The dry conditions have led to two wildfires that are being battled right now in the state. Those wildfires burning in Cumberland and Warren counties….around 1,000 people had to evacuate in Warren County because of the wildfire there.
