State Rep. Jeremy Faison Re-elected As Caucus Chairman
When the 114th General Assembly convenes in Nashville for the new legislative session in January a familiar face will be back near the top of the republican party. On Tuesday at an organizatio0nal meeting held in Pigeon Forge, District 11 state representative Jeremy Faison was reelected as Republican Caucus Chairman. Faison, who resides in Cosby, will be serving his fourth term as caucus chair. Faison was instrumental in the republican’s retaining their super majority in the Tennessee house where republicans hold 75 of the 99 seats.
According to a statement from the Tennessee Republican party, as Republican caucus chairman, “Faison will preside over meetings and is the second ranking officer of the caucus. His duties include calling meetings as requested by the Republican majority leader, presiding and maintaining order at such meetings as well as providing a forum in which the will of the majority prevails while protecting the rights of those whose views are in the minority.”
Faison called being elected to his 4th term as caucus chairman a priviledge, stating that “We must ensure Tennessee remains a place that protects individual liberties, keeps taxes low and is fiscally responsible. I look forward to working alongside my colleagues to ensure the future of our state remains bright and prosperous.”
