Steel Frame Complete For New Tennessee Smokies Stadium

The journey to move the Tennessee Smokies from Kodak to Knoxville has taken another step. After breaking ground for a new stadium in downtown Knoxville back in June, officials now say that all of the steel framing for the new stadium is now in place. More than 1,000 tons of steel has been put in place as the construction will now move into its next phase. The new stadium is expected to open in the spring of 2025, just in time for the start of the 2025 baseball season for the Smokies.

The Tennessee Smokies will open their final season at Smokies Stadium in Kodak on Friday, April 5 against the Rocket City Trash Pandas. The final game at Smokies Stadium in Kodak will be Sunday, September 15.
