Student Arrested In Jefferson County After Bomb Threat
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office has made an arrest after a bomb threat was sent to school principal’s via e-mail on Tuesday. The threat involved five schools. Upon receiving the bomb threat, School Resource Officers in those schools began to sweep their schools for anything suspicious. Investigators and School Administrators were able to determine early on that these threats were a hoax. Investigators were able to track the email to a student at Rush Strong School in the Strawberry Plains area. After interviewing that student, investigators arrested and charged a 13 year old student with making Threats of Mass Destruction. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Tennessee Department of Homeland Security, Tennessee Highway Patrol’s Criminal Investigation Division, and the FBI all assisted in that investigation.
